These historic homes in Over the Rhine, adjacent to Washington Park are being meticuously restored by Daniels Homes.
The Wendleken, located at 1405 Elm St., is named for Lucielle Wendleken who rented furnished rooms to immigrants in the early 1900’s. Most of these renters worked a long day on the river and returned to Over the Rhine to meet up with friends and family for a night cap in one of the many neighborhood breweries.
The home located at 1407 Elm Street has been named the Posten, after the Posten family who lived here in the early 1900's. William and Della Posten rented rooms in this home to many immigrants who had moved to Cincinnati looking for a better life.
